From 2018 to 2020, production of fresh edible brassicas in Cameroon increased gradually from 63 127 t to 63 974 t. The adoption of the Framework Law on Food Safety in December 2018, which required a three-year consumption authorization for food products, established clearer sanitary standards and likely supported market stability during this period.

After a slight dip to 63 524 t in 2021, production recovered to 63 718 t by 2023. In 2022, a ministerial decision made conformity certificates mandatory for food products, although it was later contested, introducing some regulatory uncertainty that did not prevent the overall upward trend.

For 2024, factors such as floods in key production areas and the mandatory application of 29 agro-food standards by the Standards and Quality Agency (ANOR) came into effect. These, along with continued COVID-19 related cost pressures, influenced vegetable prices and market conditions, although production data for the year is not available.

Cameroon's edible brassicas exports have grown for the third year in a row. In 2020, exports reached 391.0 tonnes, up by 28.5% from the previous year. Between 2017 and 2020, exports surged by 1 614.9%, which translates to an annualized growth rate of 157.9%.

From 2017 to 2020, Gabon remained the primary destination for Cameroon's edible brassicas exports, accounting for 85.4% of the total volume. Other markets played a much smaller role during this period.

The market for edible brassicas exports in value terms experienced significant fluctuations. Exports hit a low in 2017 and peaked in 2019, with a 9.2-fold difference between these years. In 2020, Cameroon exported 85.3 thousand US dollars worth of edible brassicas, reflecting a sharp decline of 52.4% compared to 2019. The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 179.3 thousand US dollars, with the largest increase that year reaching 479.5%.

During 2017–2020, Gabon continued to be the main market for Cameroon's edible brassicas exports in value terms, holding an 89.6% share of total flows. The remaining volume was distributed across various other destinations.

After two years of decline, Cameroon's edible brassicas imports rebounded in 2020. Imports totaled 1.4 tonnes, showing a substantial increase of 52.3% from the prior year. Over the 2017-2020 period, imports decreased by 4.4%, with a compound annual growth rate of -1.5%. The lowest volume was recorded in 2019 at 0.9 tonnes, while the largest drop occurred in 2018 with a 35.5% decline.

From 2017 to 2020, France and Belgium together dominated Cameroon's edible brassicas imports, capturing 95.7% of the total volume. Imports from other markets were minimal.
