The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) introduced new due diligence obligations for meat imports, with core requirements deferred to December 2024. Concurrently, the frozen food segment—which includes frozen duck products—entered a growth phase, supported by cold-chain logistics expansions such as DB Schenker's addition of 400 refrigerated rail wagons in early 2024. Consumer preferences also moved toward higher-welfare duck meat from free-range systems and healthier protein options.
