Production of dried shelled broad and horse beans in Bolivia remained stable between 2018 and 2023, ranging from 12 689 to 12 917 tons annually. The market volume, representing domestic availability, fluctuated slightly around 12 000 tons due to changes in export levels. Potosí department has historically dominated production and export, accounting for around 90% of shipments, with Santa Cruz and La Paz gaining importance since the late 1990s.

From 2019 to 2022, market volume saw minor year-to-year variations, staying within a 300-ton band. In 2023, the Association of Broad Bean Producers (ASOHABA) consolidated exports of 20 tons to the United Arab Emirates, supported by technical assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and FAO to strengthen organizational capabilities and facilitate market access. This export push contributed to a slight reduction in domestic market volume to 12 167 tons, as more production was directed abroad.
