This surge aligned with two significant 2024 developments: the approval of a budget supplement for the Ministry of Economy to acquire a modern processing line at the Băiţa mine in Bihor, extending a mine restructuring program, and the reopening of the Cerişor quarry in Hunedoara by a Haţeg-based company after a 25-year pause, focusing on fine dolomite production from industrial residues. These actions enhanced domestic production capabilities, supporting the export boom while imports stabilized between 29 and 31 thousand tons.
