Silica and quartz sands production in Romania has increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, output was valued at 9 433 K $ US, marking a 4.7% rise compared to 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production decreased by 2.4%, which translates to an annualized decline of 0.8%. The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 7 555 K $ US, when production saw its largest decline of 21.8%. In contrast, the largest increase occurred in 2019 with a 19.2% growth.
