Following two years of growth, currants and gooseberries exports from Europe to international markets declined. In 2020, exports stood at 7 902 tonnes, showing a sharp drop of 26.2% compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, exports increased by 26.9%, with an annualized growth rate of 8.3%. The highest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 10 705 tonnes, while the largest increase occurred in 2018 with a rise of 67.8%.

In 2020, exports amounted to 41 700 thousand US dollars, equivalent to a sharp year-on-year loss of 31.5%. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports decreased by 18.1%, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of -6.5%. The peak value was recorded in 2018 at 62 500 thousand US dollars, which also saw the largest increase of 22.7%.
