Production returned to 1 881 thousand m³ in 2023, ending the observed interval at virtually the same level as in 2020 and underscoring the overall equilibrium of the market.

Central Asia's coniferous wood fuel production has increased for the second year in a row. In 2020, the region produced 1 881 thousand cubic meters, which remained broadly stable compared to 2019. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, overall production decreased by 2.7%, translating to an average annual decline of 0.9%. The lowest production volume was recorded in 2018 at 1 867 thousand cubic meters, which also saw the largest year-on-year drop of 3.5%. In contrast, 2019 experienced the biggest increase, with production rising by 0.7%.
