Greece's chicken meat and offal production has increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 236.5 thousand tons, which represents a 3.9% increase compared to 2019. Looking at the broader period from 2017 to 2020, production actually decreased by 3%, translating to an annualized decline of 1.0%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 217.4 thousand tons, marking the largest decline of 10.8% that year. In contrast, 2019 saw the most significant increase of 4.7%.

Greece's chicken meat and offal production value has also risen for the second year in a row. In 2020, the output was valued at 248.1 million US dollars, showing a modest gain of 3.0% from the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production value increased by 6%, equivalent to an annualized growth rate of 2.0%. The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 231.2 million US dollars, which saw the largest decline of 1.2%. The most substantial increase occurred in 2019 with a 4.2% rise.

Following two years of growth, chicken meat and offal exports from Greece declined in 2020. Exports totaled 32 840 tons, representing a 3.0% decrease compared to the previous year. From 2017 to 2020, exports overall increased by 14.2%, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.5%. The peak was reached in 2019 at 33 851 tons, while the largest increase of 15.5% was recorded in 2018.

Between 2017 and 2020, Bulgaria, Albania, and North Macedonia were the main destinations for Greece's chicken meat and offal exports in volume terms. Bulgaria accounted for 36.7% of exports, Albania for 18.3%, and North Macedonia for 10.5%. Together, these three countries absorbed 65.5% of total exports.

From 2017 to 2020, exports grew by 24.7%, equating to an annualized rate of 7.6%. The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 35.8 million US dollars, with the largest increase of 27.9% occurring in 2018.
