Earlier Report Observations

The market for central heating boilers in Lithuania showed significant growth from $15.4 million in 2018 to $20.9 million in 2019. After a slight contraction to $19.5 million in 2020, it rebounded strongly to reach $24.2 million in 2021. A downward trend followed, with the market falling to $21.2 million in 2022 and further to $17.2 million in 2023. The sharp drop in 3 was partly driven by changing consumer behavior, as heat pumps gained considerable popularity that year, drawing demand away from traditional boiler systems.

Domestic production expanded steadily throughout the period, rising from $5.5 million in 2018 to $12.7 million in 2024, indicating growing local manufacturing capacity. Over the same timeframe, imports declined from $24.3 million to $16.1 million, while exports fluctuated between $8.7 million and $14.4 million. The market volume recovered to $20.1 million in 2024.

For 2025, new EU energy efficiency standards are scheduled to take effect, which will prioritize high-efficiency condensing gas boilers. Furthermore, a new phase of state-supported programs for replacing inefficient heating units, including a shift towards heat pumps, is set to begin in July 2025.
