From 2018 to 2020, the market for cellular PS plates, sheets, film, foil and strip in Greece showed modest fluctuations. After an initial volume of 4 880 t in 2018, domestic consumption dipped to 4 402 t in 2019 before recovering to 5 100 t in 2020. This period was characterized by stable domestic production around 12 000–13 000 t and a gradual increase in imports, while export volumes were the primary variable influencing the final market size.

The market experienced a significant surge in 2021, reaching 7 668 t, driven by a notable rise in production to over 15 000 t combined with sustained import levels. However, this expansion was sharply reversed in 2022 when the market contracted to 4 574 t. This downturn coincided with a substantial jump in exports, which rose to 13 722 t and effectively offset the concurrent increases in both local output and imports.

In the following years, the market entered a phase of recovery and stabilization. Consumption grew to 5 737 t in 2023 and further to 5 925 t in 2024. This gradual rebound occurred as production levels plateaued around 16 000 t, imports continued their steady climb to over 2 700 t, and export volumes moderated from their 2022 peak.

In 2020, output was valued at 36 859 thousand US dollars, marking a controlled drop of 9.0% from the previous year. The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 40 517 thousand US dollars, while the largest annual increase occurred in 2018 at 17.6%.

In 2020, the country produced 12 527 tonnes, representing a controlled contraction of 3.6% compared to the previous year. The peak was reached in 2019 with 12 995 tonnes, and the largest annual increase also occurred in 2019 at 24.3%.

In 2020, Greece's exports of cellular PS plates, sheets, film, foil, and strip totaled 8 607 tonnes, reflecting an 8.1% year-on-year decline. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports increased by 31.4%, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.5%. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2018 at 6 143 tonnes, while the highest was in 2019 at 9 368 tonnes. The largest annual increase occurred in 2019, surging by 52.5%.

From 2017 to 2020, Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Serbia were the primary buyers of Greece's cellular PS plates, sheets, film, foil, and strip exports in volume terms. Bulgaria accounted for 26.8% of exports, Cyprus for 21.8%, and Serbia for 9.3%, collectively representing 57.9% of total export volume.
