Market volume stabilized in 2020 at around 2 624 tons. That year, the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the launch of a shopping app for markets in Praia, altering fresh produce distribution channels and likely supporting cassava consumption access during movement restrictions. After 2020, the market resumed its downward trend, shrinking a further 13% by 2023.
