This contributed to a market volume of 2.4 million tons in 2018, which grew slightly to 2.5 million tons in 2019 before stabilizing at around 2.5 million tons in 2020.

A sharp surge occurred in 2021, with market volume jumping 17% to 2.9 million tons. In 2022, consumer price increases for fresh vegetables, including peppers, affected demand, leading to a slight contraction in volume to 2.86 million tons. By 2023, strengthened consumer preferences toward healthy and natural products, along with retailers expanding fresh and organic vegetable offerings, supported a recovery, bringing market volume to 2.9 million tons.

Turkey's production of capsicum and pimenta fruits grew for the second year in a row. In 2020, output reached 2 637 thousand tonnes, showing only a slight variation from 2019. The lowest production level was in 2018 at 2 555 thousand tonnes. That year also saw the largest decline of 2.0%, while the biggest increase occurred in 2019 at 2.8%.

The most significant drop was in 2018 at 10.5%, while the largest gain was in 2019 at 24.2%.
