Growth accelerated after 2020, with the market size increasing by over 50% to reach 931 thousand tons by 2023.

This market growth was accompanied by a fundamental shift in supply structure. Import volumes more than doubled from 436 thousand tons in 2020 to 733 thousand tons in 2023, becoming the dominant source of material. Conversely, domestic production contracted steadily from 432 thousand tons to 369 thousand tons over the same period, while exports remained relatively contained.
