After a further decline to 304.4 thousand units in 2021, market volume rebounded sharply to 481.9 thousand units in 2022. Growth continued to 562.3 thousand units in 2023, accompanied by industry conferences discussing sustainable transport trends and a growing interest in electric and cargo bikes as part of urban mobility solutions, which helped sustain demand.

In 2024, the market volume decreased to 478.5 thousand units. Looking ahead, industry focus remained on electric mobility, as seen in the For Bikes 2025 trade fair highlighting e-bike trends, and ongoing research into cargo bikes' role in last-mile delivery and cycling infrastructure.
