Between 2018 and 2020, the Dutch beer market expanded in 2019 with volume reaching 2.2 million tons and value climbing to $1.2 billion. This growth reversed sharply in 2020 when market volume fell to 1.9 million tons and value dropped to $860 million.

From 2018 to 2025, import volumes peaked at 1.2 million tons in 2021 before declining to 570 thousand tons by 2025. Exports also decreased from 2.4 million tons in 2020 to 1.9 million tons in 2025, reflecting a broad reduction in trade flows.

Production beer and brewing products in the Netherlands

Exports beer and brewing products from the Netherlands

After two years of growth, the Netherlands' exports of beer and brewing products declined. In 2021, the country exported 2 394 thousand tonnes, corresponding to a decrease of 0.6% compared to 2020.
