Following two years of growth, asparagus production in the MENA region experienced a decline. In 2019, production reached its peak at 22 934 tons, representing a 1.7% increase from the previous year. However, by 2020, output had fallen to 22 784 tons, marking a slight decrease of 0.7% compared to 2019.

Exports asparagus from MENA

Export volumes showed significant volatility during this period. In 2018, MENA's asparagus exports peaked at 606 tons, reflecting a substantial 94.5% increase from the previous year. The following year saw a sharp decline of 47.9%, with exports dropping to their lowest point.
