By 2024, import volumes rose to 131.6 t. Costa Rican agricultural firms actively participated in international fairs like Fruit Attraction 2024 to promote the country as a reliable supplier. Additionally, the introduction of the 2024‑2034 Agricultural Pesticides Policy aimed to reduce hazardous pesticide use, affecting farming practices for asparagus and other fresh crops.
