Concurrent structural changes in the livestock sector included a decline in cattle numbers, especially dairy cows, from 2021 onward, which tempered demand for feed in this segment, while poultry numbers grew by 10% by 2023, supporting overall consumption volume.

In 2024, market volume expanded by 7.7% to 1 222 thousand tonnes, whereas its value fell by 11.6% to $546.2 million, suggesting shifts in pricing conditions or product mix. Competition from Polish broiler producers remained a persistent factor, applying pressure on local manufacturers.
