Production mirrored this trajectory, rising to 33,301 tonnes in 2020 before declining and then increasing again to 25,235 tonnes in the final year.

The market's recovery in 2024 was supported by stronger demand from Poland's construction and industrial sectors, which increased the need for durable protective coatings. Furthermore, stricter European environmental regulations targeting VOC emissions accelerated the adoption of low-VOC, waterborne, and bio-based alkyd resin formulations, creating replacement demand and stimulating product innovation among manufacturers.

In value terms, the market grew from $38.3 million in 2019 to $49.2 million in 2024. This increase reflected not only the volume recovery but also the influence of raw material cost fluctuations and a gradual market shift towards higher-performance, specialty resins that comply with evolving sustainability standards.

Exports of alkyd resins in primary forms from Poland grew for the second year in a row. In 2020, exports amounted to 14 889 tonnes, marking a significant increase of 46.5% compared to 2019. From 2017 to 2020, exports expanded by 41.8%, with an annualized growth rate of 12.4%. The lowest export volume was in 2018 at 9 886 tonnes, which also experienced the largest decline of 5.8%.

From 2017 to 2020, Finland, France, and the Netherlands consistently served as the main destinations for Poland's exports of alkyd resins in primary forms by volume. Finland accounted for 24.0% of exports, France for 22.7%, and the Netherlands for 18.4%. Together, these three countries represented 65.1% of total export flows.
