First-half poultry output rises

Agricultural enterprises in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region increased production of poultry meat and by-products by 20.7% year on year in the first half of 2026, Sfera.fm reported, citing the regional administration’s press service. The gain came as poultry companies expanded production sites and modernized existing facilities.

Poultry farming remains one of the region’s actively developing food-industry segments despite a broader downward trend, according to the report. The additional output strengthens regional meat availability, although the published information does not provide production volumes in tonnes, consumption data, prices or Krasnoyarsk’s trade flows with other Russian regions.

New housing adds room for 147,200 birds

AO YeniseiAgroSoyuz commissioned five new poultry houses in June in the settlement of Pervomansk, in the Mansko-Uyarsky district, and another house in the village of Minderla, in the Bolshemurtinsko-Sukhobuzimsky district. Together, the facilities increased capacity at the company’s poultry sites by 147,200 birds.

The company plans to raise production capacity by a further 30% by 2030. The stated target indicates that the current increase is part of a multiyear expansion rather than a one-off improvement, but the source did not disclose the project’s investment cost or its expected output in tonnes.

AO Shushenskaya Poultry Farm is also implementing an investment project. In July, it started operating a new slaughter unit following extensive reconstruction. The company plans to add another poultry house in 2027 if economic conditions are favorable, General Director Maxim Onoprienko said.

Efficiency and public support reinforce investment

Capacity additions were not the only source of growth. Shushenskaya increased production in 2026 after improving the survival rate of its parent flock. Its own breeding facility also supplies all of the company’s hatching-egg requirements, reducing dependence on outside suppliers for this production input.

Regional support covers several parts of the investment cycle. Enterprises carrying out projects may receive compensation for part of their expenditure on construction, facility modernization, machinery and equipment, as well as livestock insurance. Farms can also obtain subsidies for keeping agricultural animals and purchasing breeding material.

The increase extends beyond poultry. During the first half of 2026, Krasnoyarsk companies also raised production of cattle meat and pork, milk, vegetable oils, pasta and tvorog. The regional agriculture ministry regards higher food output as a priority and links industry development to Russia’s national project on technological support for food security. For poultry producers and processors, the next test will be whether the new physical capacity and operating improvements can sustain growth under the economic conditions required for further investment.
