The market volume for winches and capstans in Poland showed a pronounced downward trajectory from 2018 to 2024, decreasing from about 1.55 million units to 879,000 units. This overall decline included periods of recovery in 2020 and 2022, but these upturns proved temporary and were followed by further contractions.

Domestic production remained very low throughout the period, at only 1,000 to 2,000 units per year, making the market highly import-dependent. Import volumes, which initially stood at 1.62 million units in 2018, fluctuated but trended downward, falling to 955,000 units by 2024. This reduction in imports was the primary driver behind the shrinking market size, while export levels remained modest.

Production winches and capstans in Poland

Poland's production of winches and capstans declined in 2020 after two years of growth. Output was valued at 14 882 K $ US, down 13.6% from 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production increased by 21.8%, averaging 6.8% per year.
