The market's trajectory was closely tied to import levels, which rose from 13 351 tons to 16 971 tons by 2021 before falling to 12 510 tons in 2023. Domestic production followed a similar pattern, increasing from 2 410 tons to 3 100 tons in 2021 and then decreasing to 2 140 tons in 2023.

As a result, the overall supply in 2023 returned to a level below that of 2018, indicating a shift in market conditions during the latter half of the period covered.

North Macedonia accounted for 41.3% of exports, Bulgaria for 21.9%, and Albania for 17.5%. Together, these three countries represented 80.6% of total export flows.
