This period saw major investments in the broader rubber industry, such as Hankook Tire and Apollo Tyres expanding their tire production capacities in Hungary. However, the direct impact on hose manufacturing was limited until 2021, when a domestic producer opened a new 50 000 m² plant dedicated to vehicle climate hoses and special coolant tubes, alongside a national R&D center. Despite this capacity addition, overall market volume remained far below its 2018 peak, coinciding with reported stagnation and a 5% decline in the adjacent tire market during 2019-2020.

From 2022 onward, the market faced substantial cost pressures that drove further declines. The EU's ban on imports of synthetic rubber from Russia, which Hungary initially opposed, combined with sharp increases in energy, raw material, and transportation costs, elevated production expenses. This led to significant price hikes and reduced output, with market volume falling from 8 678 tonnes in 2022 to 5 712 tonnes in 2024. Concurrently, high inflation and elevated energy prices continued to strain the sector in 2023. By 2024, while some rubber product segments like seals recorded growth, the specific market for textile-reinforced hoses without fittings continued its downward trajectory.
