By 2024, the import value of sucrose plunged by 57%, reflecting weak import momentum and moderate price levels. In 2025, wholesale sugar prices in Lithuania ranged between US$0.50 and US$0.84 per kilogram, and the market was characterized as risky due to this low import activity.

Export shipments varied significantly, falling from 112.7 K t in 2018 to 77.5 K t in 2022 before surging to 121.2 K t in 2024. These trade fluctuations, combined with production shifts, contributed to the domestic market's instability throughout the period.

Lithuania's sucrose in solid form production has increased for the third consecutive year. In 2021, the output was valued at 83 009 K $ US, showing a moderate rise of 5.5% from 2020. Over the four-year span from 2018 to 2021, production grew by 38.1%, with a compound annual growth rate of 11.4%.

The lowest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 94.1 K t, with the largest drop of 16.5% also occurring that year.

Over the period from 2018 to 2021, exports grew by 28.1%, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.6%. The lowest value was recorded in 2019 at 48 577 K $ US, when exports declined by 2.0%.
