The market for fresh or chilled spinach in Tunisia showed minor fluctuations between 2018 and 2023, with volume ranging from 7 440 t to 7 576 t. After a slight dip to 7 440 t in 2020, production peaked at 7 576 t in 2021 before gradually declining to 7 472 t by 2023.

In 2024, high inflation averaging 10% annually significantly increased food prices, including for fresh spinach. Prices reached 3 DT per bunch in March 2024, and while central market prices remained around 1 DT/kg in April, overall upward pressure on fresh produce costs was observed.

Tunisia's spinach production declined for the second year in a row. In 2019, production was relatively stable, but by 2020 it had dropped to 7 440 tonnes. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 7 491 tonnes, which represented a 2.4% increase from the previous year.
