A modest recovery to 1 267 thousand tons occurred in 2020, followed by stronger growth to 1 325 thousand tons in 2021 and a peak of 1 415 thousand tons in 2022. The period concluded with a sharp contraction to 1 157 thousand tons in 2023.

In value terms, the market exhibited even greater volatility.
