Earlier Report Observations

The Slovak market for rubber accelerators, plasticisers, and stabilisers opened the period at 7 415 tons in 2018, supported by global sustainability and quality trends that raised demand for products with enhanced mechanical properties and durability. Manufacturers focused on improving compound performance using accelerators, antioxidants, and plasticisers to increase elasticity and heat resistance. In 2019, the market volume contracted to 5 533 tons. The following year, it stabilised at 5 532 tons, as the COVID‑19 pandemic disrupted supply chains but also heightened consumer interest in more resistant and longer‑lasting rubber preparations, while the industry’s emphasis on ecological materials grew.

Market size declined further to 5 144 tons in 2021, even though technological upgrades and a shift toward heat‑ and chemical‑resistant products continued. A turnaround came in 2022, when the volume rebounded to 6 344 tons. This recovery was driven by global raw‑material price increases and logistical bottlenecks, which made customers seek more efficient and durable rubber compounds, and by ongoing innovation from local manufacturers.

After a moderate dip to 6 158 tons in 2023, the market expanded sharply in 2024, reaching 8 336 tons—the highest level of the observed period.
