Production of coniferous roundwood in Western Asia followed a volatile trajectory from 2018 to 2023. Output began at 17.6 million cubic meters in 2018, rising moderately to 18.2 million cubic meters by 2020. A sharp expansion occurred in 2021, with production jumping to 23.3 million cubic meters. This surge was followed by a slight contraction to 22.5 million cubic meters in 2022 and a more significant decline to 18.4 million cubic meters in 2023.

By 2024, consumption of coniferous roundwood in the region, which includes Western Asia, stabilized at 31 million cubic meters. This stability was underpinned by increasing demand for coniferous wood. Concurrently, exports demonstrated resilience, with their value reaching $1.7 million in 2024 after a period of lower activity.

Western Asia's roundwood coniferous production has grown for the third year in a row. In 2019, the region produced 18 154 thousand cubic meters of roundwood coniferous, and by 2020, this figure had risen by 2.3%. Looking at the broader trend from 2017 to 2020, production increased by 12.6% overall, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 4.0%.
