The Estonian market for rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses expanded from 15 185 t in 2018 to 20 801 t in 2021, a 37% increase in volume. This growth coincided with rising domestic production, which reached 22 187 t in 2021, and generally stable import levels, while exports gradually decreased over the period.

After peaking in 2021, market volume contracted sharply to 17 082 t in 2022 and fell further to 14 809 t in 2023. The decline reflected a drop in production and lower imports, coupled with a rebound in exports, which reached 11 230 t in 2024. In value terms, the market surged to $50.2 million in 2021 before declining to $38.7 million by 2024.

A modest recovery occurred in 2024, with market volume rising 5.7% to 15 659 t as production increased to 20 599 t. However, imports remained at 6 290 t, below pre-2022 levels, and exports continued to grow, limiting the net volume available on the domestic market.

In 2021, output reached 56 532 thousand US dollars, marking a significant 39.9% increase compared to 2020. The lowest production value was recorded in 2020 at 40 403 thousand US dollars, with the largest annual decline occurring in 2019 at 16.0%. Over the period from 2018 to 2021, production grew by 17.3%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 5.5%.

Over the 2018-2021 period, exports decreased by 14.3%, corresponding to an average annual decline of 5.0%.

From 2018 to 2021, Lithuania, Latvia, and Finland were the key destinations for Estonia's exports of rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses in volume terms. Lithuania accounted for 44.2% of exports, Latvia for 23.2%, and Finland for 19.3%. Together, these three countries represented 86.7% of total export flows.
