Spain's export performance provided consistent support to production, with the country remaining a key supplier to markets like Mexico. A significant increase in export value of $55.3 million between 2021 and 2022 underscored this external demand, helping to sustain domestic output even as the internal market volume began to decline.

Market conditions in 2024 were further defined by specific restrictions, such as the ban on introducing single-use plastic items with non-attached caps from July, and regional laws like the Circular Economy Law in Madrid. These measures, focused on waste reduction and sustainable public procurement, directly affected the consumption patterns for polyamides.

Exports of polyamides in primary forms from Spain fell for the second year in a row. In 2020, Spain exported 132.0 K t, which was 2.3% lower than the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports grew by 15.3%, with an average annual growth rate of 4.9%. The highest export volume was recorded in 2018 at 160.1 K t. The largest year-on-year decline occurred in 2019, when exports dropped by 15.6%, while the biggest increase was seen in 2018, with a rise of 39.8%.

The largest year-on-year drop was in 2019, with a 15.6% decrease, while the biggest increase occurred in 2018, rising by 26.2%.
