In value terms, the market saw some fluctuation, with its size decreasing slightly from $108.7 million in 2018 to $106.7 million in 2019 before recovering to $113.5 million in 2020. Bulgaria remained a net exporter, with export volumes reaching a high of 313 thousand tons in 2020 before a gradual decline to 126 thousand tons by 2023, while import volumes remained minimal throughout the period.
