From 2018 to 2023, the market for not roasted and not cooked groundnuts in Oceania showed considerable volatility in volume. Starting at 51 281 t, consumption fell to 41 592 t in 2019 before surging to a peak of 54 316 t in 2020.

After the 2020 high, market volume declined to 49 393 t in 2021, then recovered to 53 286 t in 2022. However, 2023 saw a sharp contraction to 41 951 t, bringing the market near its 2019 level. In value terms, movements were similar, with the market reaching USD 80.97 million in 2022 before dropping to USD 71.80 million in 2023.

That year, the region produced 18 914 tonnes, marking a significant year-over-year increase of 14.8%. Looking at the broader period from 2017 to 2020, production actually decreased by 15.2%, which translates to an average annual decline of 5.3%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2019 at 16 482 tonnes, which also saw the steepest drop of 20.5%.

Following a two-year downturn, the value of Oceania's not roasted and not cooked groundnuts production recovered in 2020. Output was valued at 26 588 thousand US dollars that year, reflecting a substantial 16.2% increase compared to the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, however, production value fell by 21.1%, with a compound annual growth rate of -7.6%. The minimum value occurred in 2019 at 22 875 thousand US dollars, which also experienced the largest decline of 21.1%.

The lowest import volume was recorded in 2019 at 29 667 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 14.1%.
