In value terms, the market fluctuated more sharply, rising from 433.3 million dollars in 2018 to a high of 585.0 million dollars in 2021, then falling to 541.0 million dollars by 2024.

The composition of supply changed over the period, with domestic production declining from 117.0 thousand tons to 98.2 thousand tons. Imports increased from 114.8 thousand tons to 145.5 thousand tons, becoming a larger share of the market. Exports fell from 55.3 thousand tons to 38.3 thousand tons, indicating a shift in trade patterns.

Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 9.2%, which translates to an average annual decline of 3.2%. The highest production value was recorded in 2018 at 332.8 million US dollars, with the largest annual increase of 10.4% also occurring that year. Conversely, the most significant drop was in 2019, when production decreased by 13.0%.

In 2020, 101.2 thousand tonnes were produced, down by 1.4% compared to the previous year. From 2017 to 2020, production declined by 10%, averaging a 3.5% annual reduction. The peak volume was in 2018 at 117.0 thousand tonnes, which also saw the largest increase of 3.9%. The most substantial decline occurred in 2019, with a 12.2% drop.

From 2017 to 2020, France, Portugal, and the United Kingdom were notable but not dominant buyers of non-reinforced, non-laminated, non-cellular polypropylene (PP) sheets from Spain. France accounted for 20.1% of export volume, Portugal for 14.5%, and the United Kingdom for 9.8%. Together, these three countries represented 44.3% of Spain's total exports in kind.
