This contributed to stable market conditions initially, but the COVID-19 pandemic subsequently disrupted raw material supply chains and caused labor shortages, leading to a slight decrease in market volume by 2020.

Following a post-pandemic recovery that pushed market volume to 36.2 thousand tons in 2021, a prolonged weakness in the construction sector—driven by difficult credit conditions and the broader economic situation—triggered a multi-year decline. From 2024, additional pressure came from the EU Taxonomy Regulation's stricter sustainability reporting requirements, which affected production and marketing, contributing to the market shrinking to 25.3 thousand tons by the end of the period.
