The market for non-coniferous roundwood in Poland showed a declining trend between 2018 and 2023, with total volume falling from 10.7 million m³ to 9.4 million m³. After a noticeable contraction in 2019, consumption saw a modest rebound the following year before entering a phase of gradual reduction.

Market volume remained relatively stable around 10.2 million m³ from 2020 to 2022. However, this period of steadiness ended in 2023, when the market contracted sharply by 7.7%, reaching the lowest consumption level recorded within the six-year span.

Poland's production of non-coniferous roundwood has declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 9,666 thousand cubic meters, marking a 5.1% decrease compared to 2019. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 7%, with an average annual decline rate of 2.4%. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 10,820 thousand cubic meters, which represented a 4.1% increase from the previous year. The most significant drop occurred in 2019, with a 5.8% decrease.

The market for non-coniferous roundwood exports from Poland showed considerable volatility during this period. Exports reached their lowest point in 2019 at 0.1 thousand cubic meters, before hitting a peak in 2018 at 618.7 thousand cubic meters—a staggering 7365-fold difference between these two years. In 2020, Poland exported 0.1 thousand cubic meters, which represented a sharp 38.1% year-over-year improvement. The largest decline was recorded in 2019 at 100.0%, while the most significant increase occurred in 2018 at 103.9%.

From 2017 to 2020, Germany, Slovakia, and Sweden remained the top buyers of non-coniferous roundwood from Poland, collectively accounting for 83.4% of total exports in volume. Germany led with 36.1% of exports, followed by Slovakia at 24.9%, and Sweden at 22.4%.
