During this period, Chiapas emerged as the leading federal entity for international sales of natural latex, with key export destinations including Guatemala and other regional markets. The overall reduction coincided with a decline in domestic production, which fell from 95 798 t in 2021 to 89 323 t in 2022.

Throughout the full period, trade patterns showed active imports and exports, with global factors such as the concentration of major exporters like Thailand and Vietnam influencing the Mexican market. Consumer preferences shifted toward natural and organic products, and nearshoring along with trade agreements in North America strengthened related sectors like textiles, which may affect long-term demand for natural latex.
