The Slovak market for motor vehicle seats contracted between 2018 and 2020, with its total value falling from 1 308 million USD to 1 258 million USD. Domestic production followed a similar downward trend, declining from 1 347 million USD to 1 263 million USD over the same two-year period.

A strong reversal occurred by 2024, with the market expanding to 1 593 million USD, a 27% increase from the 2020 low. Production recovered even more robustly, reaching 1 603 million USD and surpassing its pre-contraction level.

Throughout the period, export values fell sharply from 56 million USD in 2018 to a low of 9 million USD in 2022 before partially recovering to 24 million USD in 2024, while import values remained relatively stable.
