Earlier Report Observations

The linseed market volume in Western Europe expanded from 577 thousand tons in 2018 to a peak of 705 thousand tons in 2020. This growth was primarily fueled by increasing consumer awareness of health benefits and rising use of linseed oil in the food and cosmetics industries, a trend that began in 2018 and likely persisted through the period.

After 2020, the market entered a downturn, declining to 579 thousand tons in 2021 and further to 505 thousand tons in 2022.

In 2023, the market rebounded to 577 thousand tons, matching the 2018 level, supported by continuing consumer demand for organic, cold-pressed linseed oil and sustainable products across the region.
