During the 2019-2023 period, the gas sector saw the development of exchange markets operated by TGE S.A., a rise in the number of entities holding gas trading licenses, and regulatory adjustments including a ban on off-premise gas sales contracts while permitting remote agreements. Despite these developments, the market volume for gas meters continued to contract.

In 2024, factors such as the embargo on Russian LPG imports, a 7.8% year-on-year increase in natural gas consumption, and the expansion of LNG infrastructure with the Świnoujście terminal handling over 40% of gas supplies highlighted ongoing transformations in Poland's gas market, which are reshaping the energy landscape.

The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 1 041 thousand units, which also saw the largest decline of 28.8%. In contrast, the largest increase occurred in 2019 at 22.6%.

From 2017 to 2020, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Germany were consistently the main destinations for Poland's gas meter exports in volume terms.
