Earlier Report Observations

The frozen sweetcorn market in Israel expanded from 8,845 t in 2018 to 11,596 t in 2021. This growth of nearly 31% over three years was primarily supported by a steady rise in import volumes, which more than quadrupled from 1,069 t to 4,454 t during that period. Domestic production, however, began a downward trend, falling from 7,873 t to 7,175 t between 2018 and 2021.

The market's expansion reversed in 2022 and 2023, with the total volume contracting to 10,765 t and then to 8,696 t, respectively. This decline coincided with a continued drop in local production, which fell to 5,402 t in 2023, representing a decrease of over 31% compared to 2018 levels. Although imports provided some support, reaching 5,519 t in 2022, they then retreated to 3,417 t in 2023, contributing to the overall market reduction.
