The ferro-alloys market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured in physical volume, expanded to 38 680 t in 2021 but then contracted significantly over the following years, falling to 18 377 t by 2023. Domestic production followed a similar trajectory, peaking at 35 688 t in 2021 before declining to 13 587 t in 2023. This external shock directly impacted Bosnia and Herzegovina's export activity, with volumes falling from 3 560 t in 2019 to 943 t in 2020.

In the subsequent period from 2021 to 2024, the market continued its downward adjustment. Imports fell from 6 608 t to 4 559 t, while exports reached a low of 299 t in 2024. In value terms, the market's contraction was pronounced, declining from 97.2 mln $ US in 2021 to 42.2 mln $ US in 2024, reflecting the broad-based reduction in both volume and unit values.
