Earlier Report Observations

The dried apricots market in Oceania contracted significantly from 2018 to 2023, with total volume falling from 6 416 t to 4 342 t. This overall decline was punctuated by notable annual volatility, beginning with a drop in 2019 followed by a partial recovery the next year.

A sharp downturn defined 2021, when the market volume plunged by nearly 1 550 t to 4 681 t. The market stabilized around this lower level in 2022 and 2023, with only minor fluctuations in volume.

The shrinking market size occurred alongside a steep, continuous decline in local production, which fell from 795 t to 205 t over the period. Supply from imports, which makes up the majority of the market, also became more volatile after 2020, contributing to the reduced overall volume.
