The cocoa powder and cake market in Guyana experienced considerable volume fluctuations from 2018 to 2023. The total market size began at 278.8 tons in 2018, fell sharply to 209.0 tons in 2019, then rebounded to 236.8 tons in 2020. After another decline to 208.9 tons in 2021, the market stabilized around 209 to 212 tons in 2022 and 2023.

Domestic production remained consistently between 202.5 and 205.8 tons throughout the period, showing minimal annual variation. In contrast, import volumes were highly volatile, dropping from 65.6 tons in 2018 to just 6.6 tons in 2019 and remaining low thereafter, which was the primary cause of the overall market volume changes.
