The citrus fruit market in Guinea showed consistent growth in volume from 472 thousand tons in 2018 to 486.7 thousand tons in 2023. This expansion was underpinned by the implementation of the AgriFARM project starting in 2018, which aimed to sustainably increase incomes for family farms, enhance their resilience to climate shocks, and improve access to local and regional markets. Concurrently, the national policy prioritized agriculture through strategic documents like the National Economic and Social Development Plan and the Agricultural Orientation Law, creating a favorable environment for agricultural production.

In the latter part of the period, continued investments and reforms further supported market growth. The AgriFARM project secured additional funding in 2021, leading to improved agricultural infrastructure and market information systems. A significant boost came in 2023 with the successful launch of the first States General of Agriculture and Livestock, focusing on land development, water management, and value addition for agricultural products. Additionally, the rehabilitation of three major agricultural industrial sites, including a fruit juice plant, began to enhance local processing capacity, encouraging higher production of citrus fruits.
