Mauritania's cheese and curd import values rose for the second year in a row. In 2018, imports dropped to 224.2 thousand US dollars, the lowest in the period, reflecting a 2.8% decline. This was followed by a sharp 28.1% increase in 2019. By 2020, imports reached 311.8 thousand US dollars, up 8.6% from the previous year. Over the entire 2017–2020 span, import values grew by 35.1%, with an average annual rate of 10.6%.
