Following a stable start in 2018, the carrots and turnips market volume in Western Asia grew to 1 246 thousand tons in 2019. This increase coincided with a significant production rise in Morocco, which became Africa's leading producer, likely boosting supplies to the region through imports.

The market contracted over 2020-2021, falling to 1 057 thousand tons, but recovered to 1 264 thousand tons in 2022. The rebound was supported by the continued production leadership of Morocco and Algeria, ensuring stable regional supply.

Market volume continued its upward trend in 2023, reaching 1 287 thousand tons, reflecting sustained demand and adequate supply.
