Earlier Report Observations

From 2019 to 2020, the Lithuanian carpets and rugs market grew in volume to 1 669 thousand m², supported by the development of a new market segment. Company Lindström actively expanded designer rug rental services, especially for educational institutions, which stimulated competition and accounted for 24% of the total rug rental market. This was complemented by state involvement, as the Central Procurement Organization began tendering for rug rental and replacement services, adding public sector demand.

Market volume dipped to 1 604 thousand m² in 2021 before recovering and reaching a peak of 2 059 thousand m² in 2024. During these years, the market adapted to evolving consumer preferences, including increased demand for eco-friendly rugs made from natural fibers offered by suppliers like UAB Dubingiai. The expansion of rental services from companies such as UAB Švarus pasaulis and Elis Lietuva, alongside the strengthening of online sales through platforms like Manokilimas.lt, reflected changes in purchasing habits and contributed to market activity.
