Earlier Report Observations

In 2018, the Polish candle market reached USD 189.5 million, supported by growing consumer interest in scented and personalized products as well as the strengthening position of Polish producers in European export markets. The market contracted to USD 127.3 million in 2019, but rebounded to USD 163.9 million in 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated demand for home wellness and comfort, coupled with a surge in online shopping. By 2021, market volume rose further to USD 198.5 million, fueled by sustained appetite for customized and thematic candles and the continued development of e-commerce.

From 2022 onward, candle imports into Poland kept rising, reaching USD 113.0 million in 2024, indicating persistent domestic demand. Exports, which peaked at USD 930.9 million in 2022, moderated in the following years yet remained a key outlet for local manufacturers. Market trends continued to emphasize personalization and eco-friendliness, with companies such as Polwax focusing on quality and ecological production, while international brands like Bottega Veneta introduced new scented candle lines, all supported by the steady growth of online retail.
