Earlier Report Observations

The Italian cabbage market volume showed a clear peak-and-decline pattern between 2018 and 2023. After growing to 412.3 thousand tons in 2019, the market entered a phase of contraction that lasted through most of the subsequent period.

The decline was most pronounced in 2020 and 2021, bringing the volume down to 348.8 thousand tons. A modest recovery to 355.3 thousand tons in 2022 proved temporary, as the market shrank again in 2023, ending at 346.6 thousand tons, which was below the starting level of 2018.
