By 2022, however, volume dropped 7.0% to 50 583 tons as inflation and higher import prices weighed on demand. A modest recovery followed in 2023, with volume rising 1.9% to 51 531 tons alongside continued growth of private labels and online sales in food retail.

Factors influencing the market in 2024 included persistent inflation, high interest rates, and the impact of the war on labor and consumption patterns.
